Do I need specialised staff? Can you also find skilled workers?
Yes, we work with recruitment agencies in Asia (Nepal, Vietnam, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan) who also recruit specialised staff. Please note that, depending on certain requirements of Romanian legislation, it may be necessary to ensure the qualification certificates equivalent. In this case too, we can be of assistance.
How do I make sure that the candidates you propose are sufficiently qualified?
We recruit, through our partners, employees who have worked in related industries. We inform you about their experience, the qualifications they hold (and which they prove through various certificates issued by the competent authorities in their countries of origin). Depending on your needs, we test the candidates and tests / work trials can be done online.

What are the wage expectations of Asian workers?
Wages for workers from Asia differ according to their qualifications and experience. In general, the expectation for Asian workers is between €500 and €700 net/month or more for the highly skilled. Accommodation is also provided. For IT staff, salaries are somewhat higher, depending on qualifications and skills. We can provide you specific advice depending on your recruitment project.
How long does the whole process take, from the moment of initiating the collaboration to the start of the work
It usually takes about 3-4 months.
The process of recruiting staff from non-EU countries is very complex, especially in terms of mandatory legal procedures. Beyond the selection process (approx. 2 weeks), which we carry out very seriously and correctly to ensure that the staff identified meets your requirements, there are the stages of obtaining a work permit (1-2 months) and a work visa (1-2 months).
The procedures for obtaining a residence permit after the arrival of employees in Romania take about 1-2 months from the time of submission of the documents. During this period, non-EU employees can already work for you.
What documents do I have to provide as an employer?
The process of obtaining a work permit for non-EU workers is complex and requires the submission of extensive documentation. We will guide you through all the documents you need to prepare.
However, it is important to know that in order to obtain the necessary approvals for this purpose, you must not be registered with any outstanding debts towards the state budget and that insolvency proceedings should not have been opened against you.
We help you to draw up all the necessary documentation in an efficient manner.
What documents must the employee provide?
In order to obtain a work permit and visa, and then a residence permit, the non-EU employee recruited must also provide a number of documents. These include: birth certificate, identity card, criminal record, education certificates, qualification certificates, valid passport, medical certificate showing that he/she is fit for work.
How can I fire a non-EU employee?
The Labour Code and related legislation do not differentiate between dismissal of EU and non-EU employees. Thus, for dismissing employees, follow the same process that is applicable to Romanian employees. We recommend, however, that you make a detailed labour needs analysis before starting the recruitment process from non-EU countries, so that you can estimate with a high degree of certainty that you can secure a job for at least one / two year(s). Many employees come from Asian countries and the cost of transport can be prohibitive for them. Please bear in mind, that it is necessary to notify IGI, however, of the termination of the individual labour agreement of the non-EU employee for whom you have obtained the work permit. We are at your disposal with specialised services and can provide you with support in dealing with IGI.
What are the main legal obligations I have when hiring non-EU staff?
You have the same obligations towards non-EU employees as you have towards your Romanian or EU employees. There are no specific additional obligations derived from employment law that relate to your employment relationship. However, please note that you can only employ non-EU citizens for whom you have obtained a work permit and who have the right of residence in Romania.
In order to obtain a residence permit, the employee needs to provide proof of accommodation, so you need to make sure that your non-EU employee has accommodation. If the employment relationship is terminated/suspended, you need to notify IGI.
How do I communicate with non-EU staff?
In general, workers in Asia speak English well enough to be able to communicate at a basic level. They also have the ability to learn the language quickly. Depending on the sector you work in, it might be interesting for you to offer Romanian language courses. We can also assist you through our partners with Romanian language courses specifically tailored for employees recruited from Asia and the industry you work in.
